The Associate and Professional practice exams now match the real exams.
Databricks changes fast. New features arrive every few months, and the certification exams change with them.
That creates a quiet problem for learners. You can study hard and still prepare for an exam that no longer exists.
This month we fixed that for both Databricks Data Engineer practice exams on BricksNotes. Here is what changed, why it matters, and how to use it.
Imagine you spend three weeks on a practice bank. You score 85 percent. You feel ready.
Then the real exam asks about VARIANT columns, ai_query(), and attribute-based access control. Your practice bank never mentioned them.
That is not a study problem. It is a freshness problem. And it is why we treat exam updates as real work, not a footnote.
The Data Engineer Associate practice exam got a calmer, clearer page.
You now see the exam shape at a glance: 45 questions, 90 minutes, a 70 percent pass mark, and a 360-question pool.
Below that sits a study map. Each exam domain links straight to the book chapter that teaches it. If you miss questions on Delta Lake, you know exactly which chapter to read next.
We also removed the noise. No flashing badges. Just the exam, the map, and three simple steps to follow.
The real Professional exam changed on October 9, 2026. It moved from 10 sections to 9, with 60 scored questions in 120 minutes.
So we rebuilt the Data Engineer Professional practice exam to match.

New topics now have real practice questions:
Every question has an explanation. The goal is not to tell you the answer. It is to show you why the answer is right.
We also added a public changelog. It shows the old outline next to the new one, so you can see exactly what moved.
BricksNotes exists to be a calm, practice-first home for data engineers. Up to date content is part of that promise.
A practice exam is only useful if it reflects the real world. So is a book. That is why the book, the exams, the 24 free datasets, and the articles all get updated together.
More than 33,000 practice exams have been completed on BricksNotes. Every one of those attempts deserves accurate questions.
That loop is slower than memorizing answers. It is also the only one that still works after the exam changes again.
If you are studying after work, between classes, or late at night, we see you.
Certifications can feel like a wall. They are not. They are a list of skills, and every skill can be learned one small step at a time.
You do not need to be fast. You need to be steady. One chapter today. One practice set tomorrow. One small project in Free Edition this weekend.
That is how real engineers are built. Not in a rush, but in a rhythm.
Thank you for learning with us. We will keep the content fresh so you can keep your focus on growing.
